Welcome to the Manitoba Football Referees' Association

The Manitoba Football Referees’ Association (MFRA) is an association created in 2002 to provide officiating and time keeping services to the Manitoba Minor Football Association (MMFA) for its community tackle football games, of which levels include:

> Terminator: ages 7-8
> Atom: ages 9-10
> Pee Wee: ages 11-12
> Minor Bantam: age 13
> Bantam: age 14

The MFRA maintains a membership of approximately 80 on-field officials and timekeepers combined, all with various levels of certification and skills.

The MFRA is committed to ensuring that the game of tackle football be a safe and fun environment for the youth of our communities and also ensure that all that register have a fair opportunity to participate.

The MFRA officiates between 500 and 600 regular season games throughout the community tackle football season, which begins in mid August and continues through mid October, followed by two weeks of play-offs and one Championship weekend, wrapping up the season at the end of October.

All games are played on weekends.

The MFRA offers:

> On-field officials comprehensive training by members of the Manitoba Football Officials Association (MFOA)
> The benefit of flexible scheduling
> Pay rates from $22.00 to $34.00 per game (depending on position and level of game)
> Fuel allowance for out of town games (some restrictions apply)
> Flexible pay schedule (either mid-season and end, or a one time payment at the end of the season)
> A reimbursement program for on-field officials certification (some restrictions apply)
> Time keeper training at no charge
> All equipment at no charge
> Year end awards and prizes for “Most Outstanding”, “Most Improved”, and “Rookie of the Year”
