            Officials – Certification and Training

As members of the MFRA you will be certified to work as an on-field official and be provided with the necessary training and support to help you to perform your duties effectively and present in the most professional manner.

The MFRA works in partnership with the MFOA and share responsibilities for officiating duties of Minor Bantam and Bantam level tackle football games. The MFRA/MFOA partnership is designed to bridge the gap between the associations in an effort to create the opportunity for growth of officials who are interested in advancing to the MFOA. For more on the MFOA see www.mfoa.mb.ca

            Level 1 Certification:

Upon becoming a member of the MFRA and committing to on-field officiating duties the MFRA will register your name with the MFOA for level 1 certification. This is a one day training seminar where you will be provided an overview of game rules and mechanics as set out by Football Canada that will enable you to perform line judge and head line judge duties. At the conclusion you will receive a binder for your review that contains the topics studied in the seminar. You will also be provided a 2010/2011 Canadian Amateur Football rule book. You will be expected to study and know the rules in preparation for the upcoming season.

Cost for level 1 certification: $50.00 - due MFRA prior to attendance (50% of the cost of certification qualifies for reimbursement upon completion of a 10 game commitment)
